FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU MAKE GLUTEN FREE PIES?
We do not make any gluten free crusts. We can make "crustless quiche" on special order, but we cannot do this if there is a true allergy to gluten, as we cannot guarantee there is no cross contamination.
ARE YOUR PIES VEGAN?
Our crust contains butter and coconut oil, and are egg washed, so our pies are not vegan unless special ordered.
WHAT CAN I ORDER VEGAN?
Our fruits pies can be special ordered vegan. Our vegan crust is made with coconut oil only.
We do have some savory pies that can also be ordered vegan. VEGETARIAN RED THAI CURRY, VEGETARIAN CHILI, and LENTIL CURRY
I'M NOT VEGAN, BUT I CAN'T HAVE DAIRY. DO YOU HAVE ANY DAIRY-FREE MEAT PIES?
There is no dairy in the inside of our bison chili pie, our spicy chicken cilantro pie, our BBQ pulled pork pie or our red thai chicken pies. You can call ahead and special order these pies DAIRY-FREE. We will use only coconut oil in the crust, and will not egg wash them.
DO YOU SHIP? Unforunately, no. We do not ship.
CAN I ORDER ANYTHING OFF OF YOUR FULL MENU AT ANY TIME?
We like to keep things fresh and interesting in the shop, so we are always rotating our weekly offerings. We try to accomodate special requests as best that we can, but we are committed to maintaining a weekly menu that reflects seasonal produce offerings. Accordingly we cannot take orders for fruits pies that are out of season. We are also a small shop, with a small staff, so we can only bake so many varieties each day. We set the savory pie menu for the following week on Sundays, so if you call and place your order by Sunday, most of the time, we can do that for you. The exception to this is if we cannot get the ingredients in time. We work with a lot of local farmers, and try to source as many of our ingredients locally as we can. On occasion, some of our meat producers are waiting on something to come back from the butcher! In the summer months, we sell fewer savory pies. Accordingly, we make fewer savory pie varieties each week in the summer. Occasionally if we already have a orders for a lot of different savory varieties, and you want a different one, we might not be able to accomdate your order, as we may have already set the menu due to advanced orders. .
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO PLACE MY ORDER FOR THANKSGIVING?
6-8 weeks before Thanksgiving we will post a web-store online for Thanksgiving pie orders. We will cut off orders a couple of days before pickup (so we can plan and prep and purchase ingredients), sooner if we are inundated and feel we need to cap them. We do pickup on the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. All pies are baked fresh on those 2 days, we do not bake ahead of this. NO SPECIAL ORDERS FOR THANKSGIVING. NO SAVORY PIES FOR THANKSGIVING. NO PIE OF THE MONTH FOR THANKSGIVING.
